To be Progressive means to have a certain mindset that allows you and others to strive in life.
For my progressive challenge topic I chose to focus on the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT+) community because I believe it is important for people to be informed about today's society.
The most challenging part of the Progressive Challenge Project was the "progressive day," which was the day that we went around High Tech Elementary (HTE) schools and presented our Mobile LGBT+ Library. It was tough going onto the real world and showing our ideas to people who could possibly make a use of it. We showed our prototype and ideas and in return we would get feedback on how to better our library. One thing I love about the LGBT+ Mobile Library is that it was made to inform people, especially the young about their society and the people in it. Doing so people will gain a new perspective and have more acceptance towards one another. I have learned that even though we're in the 21st century there still exists racism and discrimination due to the past. This all ties up to my academic understanding and what Joan has been teaching us in History class. I am proud of the LGBT+ Mobile Library. I think that it might just be used around elementary schools around the world. Soon people will want to make their own library; this is mainly the projects purpose, to make a change outside of our High Tech High International bubble and to educate the young to live progressively.
