My Internship project was the classroom library. I finished organizing the library and I feel extremely proud of myself. My job was to organize the classroom books and place them in their designated area. I also had to place all the books in new bins and make new bin labels. Doing my project took up most of my internship time; it went well. If i could go back in time and change something I did I would not. I am proud of the outcome.

Future interns from HTHI have to keep in mind that an internship can help them decide their future career. So it is important to behave. For any internship it is important to follow and respect both the rules of your mentor and your internship advisor. If the intern follows and respects the rules accordingly then they will most likely have a fun experience.Becoming an intern at my local elementary school has convinced me to take a step closer towards college. Now that I know how difficult it is to be a teacher I don't exactly have in mind getting involved in teach. Yet I do have in mind going to college and earning a Fire Science Degree. Being able to see my mentor teach made me want to follow her footsteps. Which is being educated. I have in mind joining the University of The Pacific.
I am most grateful for being able to interact with 4th graders at Laura Rodriguez. I was able to learn wonderful things: being able to speak well to children, know how to explain materials ect. I learned that perhaps 4th grade was not my year age to teach and that I should try another age group.Working alongside 4th graders at Laura Rodriguez Elementary has altered my life. I have learned a lot from my mentor and the students. Everyone is so full of life, especially the students. Everyday when I enter class everyone is so happy to see me. The students always yell my name with joy. Everyone seems to really like each other in room 404. I've interacted with most students and they are all wonderful children with great character. Whenever I speak to the students they ask questions that I would never think of asking when I was their age. My mentor has made education a little more challenging and due to this her students have more intuition that I've seen any 4th grader have. My time as an intern has changed my perspective on teach. I used to dream on joining teach and teaching the young all there is to know about life and education. Yet this month I have realized that the teaching career is not exactly for me.PrintingMy five selfies:My Presentation of Learning (POL) will be presented visually. I will be using a power point to demonstrate my academic improvement. This Friday I intend on presenting something other than a power point. I will be leaving out laptops with my blog open so that my school Advisor and Advisee's can view it. My power point is practically pictures; by viewing these pictures I get an idea and as a result I can speak without risking my mind going blank. I also have in mind leaving papers that I have graded or work that I have helped out with. At the end of my presentation I'd love to show the visitors around the school.I am still working on my powerpoint.Having communication skills are important, especially while dealing with 4th graders. I improved my speaking skills a lot by talking to my instructor and her fellow students. I learned that by communicating is a basic skill needed in life and that by improving this skill life is made easier. In addition, communicating or collaborating with others helps out everyone feel much more comfortable with their work environment. For the first time in my life I got the opportunity to have a new perspective about school; my internship allowed me to be in a classroom as a teacher and not a student. By being a teacher I realized that teaching is more than just "teaching." It is about being able to speak to students without any difficulties about life and education.
